LIVECINEMA a technical explanation.
Powerplant’s live cinema shows are expanded cinema installations in which a story is told, via various audiovisual levels, during 20, up to 50 minute- performances. The installations are app. 3x2,50 cubic metres big, and contain a series of smaller settings. The story that takes place throughout these sets, is performed by two actors and a number of puppets who play along with the voices, special sound-effects and music of the soundtrack.
The audience can follow the story by looking directly into all various sets, and by following the (preferably:) 2x3 square metres live-projection of the camera, held by a cameraman who directly films all actions up close inside the installation.
Powerplant also builds installations and models as autonomous sculptures.
